Anyone know if it would be possible to put an HTC Touch Diamond onto the Telecom NZ network? It is CDMA 800/1900, and packs an impressive wad of features.

I like Telecom and want to stay with them, but their current range of phones is so close to sending me to Vodafone. All I want is a nice CDMA phone with Wifi that isn't an Apache or Titan (named after its size I think).

You cannot connect an imported CDMA handset to Telecom's network. Actually you can't move handsets between CDMA network (almost all).

This of course wil change when Telecom's new network goes live.

The new network will not loosen up the CDMA retrictions/requirements at all.

Sorry if my late wriiting read stupid. I obviously meant the new network (WCDMA) won't have the same regulations as the current one (CDMA) in terms of which handsets you are allowed to use.

google some keywords like 'write ES*N' 'ES*N Clo*ne', then try to find some information from there. i have seen some people who successfully unlocked sprint mogul and made them work on verizon and in india.

i had tried myself as well on my titan using a ES*N of a old phone, but to no avail.

you should try if you are interested, and then post comment.
