Our street got 'cabinetised' so to get decent speed I moved back to Telecom. My speed hasn't changed so I contacted them and they advised that I'm still connected to the exchange and I have to contact Chorus myself?!?! So I did then Chorus emailed back that I'm connected to the cabinet and it's an ISP problem! What's going on here? Who should I contact?

Cheers,
Gergely

You need to talk to your ISP.

Whoever you pay your money to is really the only one who will want to speak to you unfortunately. Sounds like that is Xtra.

I'm confused :-)
I signed up with Telecom on a Telecom broadband plan so I contacted the Telecom help desk. But Telecom tells me I have to talk to Chorus and Chorus says I have to talk to Telecom.

I -believe- that Chorus deal with the network, and respond to retailers (telcos/ISPs), as far as I am aware they do not have a brief to engage with an ISP's clients directly (i.e. you can't bypass your ISP and go straight to Chorus for anything).

(If this is incorrect, someone will no doubt chime in.)

you pay your megabux to telecom, your telecoms customer, they are to take ownership of your queries and concerns.... telecom pay chorus to do their work, chorus works for telecom, not for you... i think? lmao

I just had a reply back from Telecom saying I'm definitely not connected to the cabinet (no ETA) however Chorus thinks I'm already (and that's what Telecom's ADSL2+ website checker tells me as well). Unbelievable.

That's odd - I got told yesterday by Chorus that I am not on a cabinet but will be within the month, according to their ADSL2+ checker I am already (and the blasted huge Excel spreadsheet agrees!)

Not sure anyone knows what's going on really.

@nzgg Sadly you have been mislead. The only person you should be talking to is Telecom on 123. There is no reason for custoemrs to be talking to Chorus. When you ring 123 back ask your quesiotn again and if you don't like/agree with the answer the ask to speak to a supervisor.
