Why is above modem so slow? Just had a play with free one recieved when joined back up with telecom.

It syncs at 6.5 Mbps, downloads on speedtest local at 5 Mbps.

Plug linksys into same wiring get sync just over 12 Mbps and downloads on speedtest local 10 Mbps.

Didn't run xtra setup cd, but did change user name and password on Thomson through web interface, surely that should be enough.

Also when log on with thompson seem to get ip address's assigned in the 12x range where the linksys usually gets 2xx.



Hopefully then linksys doesn't break down as present don't want to use telecoms one, and dont know what unwanted software their install disk put on computer if use.
