Hello. I have got my eye on getting the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. I had a look at the list put up by a fellow geekzone user on wether or not my phone will work on XT. Surely enough it is listed there as it will work. I had a look at the Phone Specs and saw that it was 900/2100 MHz not 850/2100.

I live in the Wellington region (closer to CBD than the hutt) and i would like to no if anyone had any experience with either this phone, or another 900/2100 Mhz phone in the wellington region?

The reason i ask is because if i am to buy the Xperia im not sure if i will get any coverage or not.

Thanks for the help. :)

I am sure it won't work on XT Network if it's not 850 MHz WCDMA. It will have *VERY* limited coverage in some areas due to the infill 2100 MHz, but that will be really not good enough.

You need the X1a in order to use it on Telecom, Expansys USA and a number of other sites have it.

@ Nztechfreak...

I guess you wouldn't know of any NZ sites/retail stores that stock it would you? Or if no stores any rumours that X1a would be coming to NZ anytime soon?

I just had a search and saw one on trade me, but that auction closed a few days ago.

Thanks heaps for help.
