This is an informational Thread to help people who are experiencing an issus clearing the voicemail icon
on the "Sony Ericsson W508a" operating on the telecom xt mobile network in (New Zealand)

As far as i can see there is no setting in the mobile it self that enables you to clear the voice mail icon like on Nokia Mobile phones. i believe the network needs to see a little message of some sort to make it disapare any way with out any more delays this is how it's done.

"STEP ONE" --> (First off if you have any message's in your voicemail inbox Call "083210" then the system will ask you for your pin by saying "Please Enter your pin" enter your pin number" then the system will say to you "you have X  amount of new message's" depending on how meny messaging you have in your inbox. listen to the messages then press the number "3" key for Delete when the system says you have no more messages just put the phone down but what ever you do DO NOT HANG UP just leave it the system will time out and say "goodbye" meaning the system will hang up on you after getting no response from you. after that the network sends a message to your phone one that will not be seen on your display and the voicemail icon will disapare.)

if you don't have any voice message's in your inbox please ask someone nicely to call you and leave a message once the person has done that repeat "STEP ONE"
