Hi

I have a land line and have 2 neighbours in a block of flats.

Neither have a land line.

Can I get a wirelss phones that they can use.

The phones would need to recognise the number of the inbound call and ring that phone only,

When one phone is used the others would know and not be able to use theres..

Are there such phones..

Not with POTS, you could upgrade to a business line and run ISDN which gives multiple lines but you still need to run wires.

Have you thought about a voip solution, what you are talking about could be achieved with voip wirelessly

You need more than a phone - you need a PBX.

What you want do could easily be done for ~$500ish using an Asterisk based solution

I know this is in the Telecom forum, but if it's only a requirement to get a landline in there, vodafone have their "Home phone wireless" which provides voice landline services over the mobile network. (Check the vodafone mobile strength in the flats first.

I suspect that Panasonic used to do a business grade PBX which could have their DECT phones connected off it - not sure about range for the phones though - or if they still do a system like that.

I would suggest a solution like:

- convert to Naked DSL
- get a SPA 2102 or similar (voip adapter)
- plug two cordless phones into it, and just give these to your neighbours

We have a similar solution set up at my workplace, but with 3 Spa 2102 devices and plenty of cordless handsets. It's a very efficient and cost effective solution.
