Bought Samsung C5220 for mother-in-law and want to disable the Bebo link from front page -- anyone know how?

Cheers!

nopes..that is the way it would be until flashed with another providers or clean firmware..please do not flash the phone as doing so will cause any warranty to cease

Eh? No, using third party firmware does not void the warranty - the Consumer Guarantees Act states that they can only refuse a repair on modified products if the modification caused the problem - and that actually has to be proven.

So expect that if you flash it, you will receive limited to no support for any issues with the software or network on the phone.

I definitely don't want to go down that road, I just assumed there would be a way to remove it in the settings (but couldn't find it). Thanks for your help though.

Update: If you send you're phone into service, the new software revision will remove this if you really really don't want it :)

Ah ok - thanks for that -- is there a cost involved?

Not if the phones under warranty it should be free. It's up to you if you wish to send your phone away however, might be better to just stick with it.

To most people a bebo badge on the phone is about as welcome as a shortcut button to a retards anonymous website, because that's basically what it is.
