I'm in Golden bay and my mobile xt connection manager is saying (warning, cost will be increased at roaming status)

Have you locked the software to GSM, rather than Automatic / UMTS?

Can you do a network scan and let me know what carriers you see?

Also try using a USB cable to get the modem away from the laptop, which can electronic interference with USB modems.

Oh yes the setting was on GSM. Don't know why it had changed as I haven't been near the settings panel.
Anyway thankyou very much for the help, it's working now :)
