You need to provide a lot more details about your location, your phone, the parts of it and the issues.

Oh - and you need a more descriptive subject line - most people ignore postings that are simply called "Help"

First, I've changed the subject - "HELP" doesn't tell others anything so people tend to ignore these requests. Help others help you.

Now, you have to be more specific. Where are you in New Zealand? Do you know currently there is a Telecom XT outage affecting some sites in the South Island? Are you in one of these areas perhaps?

I'll go into some more detail of what you need to tell us:
1. Phone Make/Model
2. Where did you get it from
3. Was it new/secondhand
4. where in NZ/the world are you
5. are the issues persistent, consistent, random
6. how long have you had these issues - do they work sometimes
7. are all the parts new and brand name or are some things after market?

Thanks for the advice for my next topic I will make it clearer :), Um I'm in Christchurch at the current time, but neither of my sims vodafone or telecom work and people around my on XT are getting reception. (note I also had reception yesterday morning). I have tried to master reset but it doesn't seem to allow me to do that.

Have you tried manually scanning for networks and selecting the appropiate network for the SIM you have installed?

Yes, I tried this earlier today it says no networks found. I personally think its either software issue or the signal thing in the phone is broken. Went to a telecom shop down in Christchurch and they were no help pretty much flogged me off.

Your phone needs to be sent away for a software update.

I suggest you find the proof of purchase and take it to any Telecom Retail Store and ask to have it sent away. Tell them about the battery message, they will have come across it before. It should take between 7-10 working days round-trip for the repair.

install sony ericsson update service to redo the software, that way you don't need to send it in

the phone is stuffed.

I had the same issue with the first one i got from telecom and after they had sent it away, 2 weeks later they replaced the phone. A software update doesnt fix the fault unfortunately.
Tell them its an out of the box fault and that it has happened before, it should be somewhere on their records as to it happening. I have also heard from other sources that it is a relatively common fault, and a few phones have been replaced.

A software update usually does fix the problem, Loismustdye.

It's also not an OBF - these have to occur within a certain timeframe after purchase - which is definitely not two months.

As for being common, it happens, but it does not mean it is common. The percentage rate of handsets with this issue would only be around the 2-3% mark.
