It would seem that the Treo 650 has been released. Havent seen anyone else mention it on here, so thought it might worth putting up.

Looks not to bad for $799, check out https://www.telecom.co.nz/mobile/shop/front/1,5523,204449-201928,00.html?action=/mshop_handsetGallery&productCode=TREO650

It's an excellent deal when you consider the pricing of the GSM device from Vodafone. Also in Oz it's still $949 SRP...!

I have had one for 6 months now and I like it. Big improvement over the Treo 600.

I thought you went to Siberia forever?? (oh thats right, you just abandoned us.... :-0)
Welcome back.

I have had a good play. (With the TREO people!! With the TREO)

Great screen. Just seems to be a million times better than the 650. I would advise anyone who has dismissed this device based on what they know about the 600 to go to a store and have a play with one. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Telecom is pushing these as being the PDA to buy when you actually want a phone primarily and PDA as a secondary thing. (With the Apache being the reverse)

The treo 650 eclipses the 600, it makes huge (necessary) steps, I still have a gripe about the timing of the CDMA treo's but I have to have something to complain about.
I've had a good use, it will definately appeal to users with a budget or cannot justify the extra cost of the apache for evdo. I do have a problem with how it handles pdf files though.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Are you refering to how palm handle native pdf files? If so new version of Documents to Go support native pdf files.

Along with DTG there is also a new free application called PalmPDF that reads native PDF docs. It's still in development, but looks very promising.

I see, you will be disappointed to know that the Treo 650 on Telecom comes with DTG v7 loaded out of the box, well the one I had did and the information I had about it supported this,

Ciao,

DTG Came out about a or 2 week ago.. i expect the other office suites to add pdf soon.
There's also a GPL-ed project in beta to display pdf on palm os.

The adobe version for palm requires a windows PC to convert the file, so it's no use if you get sent a pdf by email while out of the office (or if you're like me you was attacked by bluescreens as a small child and am now too afraid to use windows).

Taniwha: the current adobe solution is a joke, especially because of the difficulty with email.

Brad05, can you elaborate?
