Hi everyone, Please forgive me for not being very tech savy. But I have come here to seek advice and help :)

Ok so I've acquired a LG Nortel Aria 24IP Phone and wanted to use it at home. My friend was chucking it out and remembering what a good speaker phone and headset use they have from previous call centre jobs I asked if I could have it. Long story short I get home and plug it in and it doesn't seem to work. It powers on and everything but it wont give a dial tone ect.

It's in good working order from what I can tell. I asked a old work buddy and he said that they usualy need a special program or something to run these phones?

I was wondering is it possible to use this phone on a normal landline ect? And if so how?

I really hoped I could use it for my home office, mainly for the speaker phone and headset clarity. I don't mind if I don't get to use all the other features of this phone it's just for home and me I don't have 10+ lines to transfer to at home hehe.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked online and googled extensively without any luck and any results that do seem kinda relevant unfortunately are above my head in tech speak aka another language to me.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and thank you in advance if you could offer any helpful advice or tips.

MizzChola :)

Are you talking about the whole system or just a fone off the system??

I have to say a tad overkill in anything under 3 lines IMO,

Thats aside, do you know if you have the Key Phone? normally Ext 700 or somthing along those lines in LG's

If you have this there are alot of programming manuals out on the web that will show you how to disable all but the amount of lines you have connected up and program what you need.

Off the top of my head the generic setup will be set to pick a random line thats not being used.

My 2c

Re: old3eyes

Just the phone I believe? I've been doing lots of googling and I keep seeing these box things that come with the phones that I'm assuming is the system that these phones run off?

Re: underwatervrg

Yes your right total overkill lol... But like I said the only reason I wanted it was because of it's headset capability being very clear from previous experience with it and it has an amazing speaker phone function which can pickup your voice clearly even when your a fair distance from the phone and still relay your voice clearly to the person your speaking with and vice versa :) I love that about this particular phone and given it was free I can't complain only hope that I can get it working some how lol.

Key Phone? Ext 700? I'm unsure sorry. Would this be on the back of the phone or something? There's a whole bunch of numbers on the back of the phone serial numbers or something I guess?

Yes thank you I've come across a couple program manuals so far. I was kinda hoping I might be able to find some info out regarding getting the phone to work without having to buy the manual. But shall see how things go.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply. Have a nice day :)

If anyone else could add to this as to how I might be able to get this phone to work I'd be ever so grateful.

What you have is an Aria system phone. It will only work when connected to an Aria Phone System.
If it was on an Aria 24IP then it is for the newer Aria phone systems. It will not work pugged into your home line or anywhere else. It will only work when connected (correctly) to a compatable Aria Phone System (PABX)

The phone itself is digital, it will only work when connected back to an Aria PBX and will not work on a normal analogue phoneline.
