"You will need to top-up at least once every 6 months otherwise your credit will expire and your account will be deactivated. If your credit does expire you will be notified by text message then your mobile may be disconnected.

Once you top up, your credit will last for 6 months."

The above text from Telecom's website is a bit confusing. If I topup $60 now but don't use it all in 6 months, I'd put another $10 on to keep the account alive... that part I understand. But does this mean what's left of my original $60 top-up I added 6 months ago will expire and be removed?

It rolls over for a further 6 months, so in this case $70 (however IIRC the minimum top up on XT is $20, The $10 ones work, but I'm not sure if they extended the expiry period.).

Yes the site thing is very confusing. To confirm, as long as I top up once every 6 months with whatever amount:

A) my SIM and account will stay active
B) ALL of my credit will stay intact and not expire

Hell yes, they are readily avalible at supermarkets.  Without them, my kids would not get their XT phones topped up each month.  $20 each month x 3 would mean 3 kids without working cellphones!

...or you could top up $20 every 2 months.

kids being kids would probably blow it all in the first month though,  although that might teach them a valuable lesson about managing their money.

Trust me. It doesn't. My siblings still haven't grasped the concept of using money wisely.
Depends how old they are though.. My siblings are stupid. Lol.

Oh, and just to put it out there:

I don't see ANY information saying we can buy $10 topups on the XT website.
