Hi there,
I brought a usb cable on TM for the Sanyo 7400. It comes with bitpim software. No probs, cant believe how basic it is though, pity you cant get something more polished. Anyway, Im taking pictures at 640x480. When I transfer them to my hard drive on the puter it ends up at 176x220 . This isnt a good size to be taking pictures for auctions on TM, too small. Anyone know whats going on?

You can get something 'more polished'. Datapilot.

http://www.datapilot.co.nz

It's been out there for quite a while but I'm still surprised (and a bit disappointed) how many of the Telecom stores don't carry it, let alone know about it, but the staff turnover doesn't help.

Jp.

I went to the datapilot site, do I have to buy it at a store first? I cant see if its a download or just an update there.

I'll have a chat to marketing about the point of sale material idea, as for ORB & LECOM, we've certainly tried advising more than a few people, but getting word passed down to the stores has prooved to be somewhat more fun. Hopefully we'll have more luck this year.

If LECOM's completed their stock control system changes they should now have the part code for Datapilot in their system - Part Code: SW-DATAPILOT - EAN13 Code: 9421023300433

Not sure if the information on the EAN codes has been relayed to ORB yet, but there was an email sent out late last year after we added EAN13 barcode support.
The full lists are at:
http://www.pccard.co.nz/product/APT-EAN-PartCode.pdf
http://www.pccard.co.nz/product/APT-EAN-PartCode.csv

The PDF version can also be printed out and used as a cheatsheet for selling older stock that doesn't have the barcode on it. The CSV is more for importing into stock systems. If you're opening it to have a look, use notepad, excel doesn't handle the numbers very well and converts them.

Also finally, yes to answer skatie's question, yes, you need to buy it at the store first. The download is an update for people who have purchased an older version in the last 6 months (comes with 6 months free updates - from date of registration).

Possibly give your local telecom stores a ring and ask the question, you might strike someone who knows about it, if you dont' have any luck let me know. I have sold a couple of copies on the side via TM myself, so might be able to line something up for you, but the official method of purchase is via the stores.

Thx.
Jp.

You could just upload the images you require to your online gallery, then log into the gallery from a pc and save them from there. Get decent size images that way.... I too tried the Bitpim way, but was disappointed. Can't afford to try the datapilot way unfortunately.

Problem is all solved, its when you save the pictures to the phone that it makes the size of the picture smaller, so they have to be just saved in the camera.
