Does anyone know if any sites are 'free' in that they don't use your data allowance? I checked my balance before and after viewing the telecom website, and my usage went up. I imagined at least that site would be free.

Not sure how you tried to access your balance but know that whenever I go in via the T World Portal and the Your Telecom function that it does not appear to affect the data useage. There are also a number of pages accessable from the same T World portal which do not appear to effect data usage.

Can you put your phones browser to wap mode?
Or can you download a wap browser for it like opera?

You have to use the TelecomContent APN.

0.facebook works using this on my HTC Desire running Android.

Zero facebook fine works on my pre paid XT sim, but not on my post paid XT sim. I've always found this unusual but not worried about it too much. Using Opera 9.7 on an HTC Touch Pro2.

Would be nice though to get an explanation as to why this happens. I'm guessing it's due to the individual settings for each XT mobile number rather than the phone itself. My phone doesnt have a WAP browser yet zero facebook works perfectly with the pre paid sim in it.

Did you see my post above about the APN settings? Your postpaid sim is probably set to TelecomDefault, and your Prepaid Sim is probably set to TelecomContent.

Just double checking now with my Desire and selecting different APN's.

TelecomContent - Works perfectly
TelecomData (aka TelecomInternet) - Not available
TelecomDefault - Not available

APN Settings from the sticky in the top of this forum.

I have the same APNs set up TelecomContent and TelecomData regardless of what sim is in the phone.

Seeing as I'm not using a WAP browser, which means that by default, Opera will be accessing TelecomData by default. This means that theoretically I shouldnt even have access via the prepaid sim.

In that case, I dont think its the APN, but perhaps something associated with the sim at the Telecom end?

I'm using dolphin browser on android. I can select apn in the main android settings and all programs will use it.
Perhaps someone from telecom can confirm your theory?

What phone are you using that don't have a WAP browser but Zero Facebook is working?

If you're on xt prepay then you should look at going onto the 500mb data plan. It's way cheaper, have a look through the forums, it was only recently that it was discussed, then you wont need to worry about what is unmetered when it's only 10c/mb.
