I have Sony Ericsson C510 Cellphone that I purchased about 7 weeks ago. I have never been able to log into my Westpac account to do internet banking, which has frustrated me. I was told I would be able to do everything I could do on my (previous) Okta Touch except use it as an PDA obviously.

I have been to and fro from Westpac and Telecom and have found out that it is actually a problem pertaining to the 510a.

I can put in my codes and get into the site but I get this message:
<HTML> <HEAD>
<TITLE>Error occurred </B></H1><HR> <H2><B>The channel driver has caught an uncontolled error
Channel Handler was not found in server DSE.ini for user agent SonyEriccsonC510a/R1FA Browers/NetFront/3.4Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 JavaPlatform/JP-8.4.3 and channel:

It appears that I may not be able to use this phone for internet banking.. is that correct.

I have the latest software on the phone

Hmm, do you have trouble with any other websites? I thought that handset only had a WAP browser for mobile only type websites, which in that case the Westpac site probably wouldnt work. I could be wrong and someone else may be able to confirm.

Its odd cause they should be OK the Telecom rep was not trying to mislead you its just something I have noticed and have not been able to resolve same SIM different device no issue.

Try loading opera mini onto the handset and this should work

I have downloaded Opera Lite and it works great for my internet banking ... thank you so much. Is there any disadvantages. Does it mean that each time I go onto the internet I will pay, whereas when you use TWorld you don't pay for some things.

Is there any way I can get Opera Lite to display on my screen with all the other icons?

Indeed, you will be charged data rates for doing your internet banking from your phone, regardless of how you access it from the device.

There is a certain portion of content that is free on TWorld, but not all of it.

No disadvantages if anything advantages as the traffic is optimized for a mobile screen by opera and normal internet sites would not be part of T worlds Zero rated traffic anyway
