Hey there people. Ive got a prob, I cant use XT at allll.

Ok first, I had a working LG phone on XT. It got lost/stolen. I put a block on that sim card.
Next, I got another XT simcard, and a friend gave me a Telecom R100 ($100 jobby), I got my old number put on the sim. Together, they would give the errors when calling "UNKNOWN IMSI" or "Not subscribed to service". Cant call *33, or anything. Cant txt, nothing. Apart from 111 emergency. After calls to Telecom, and going into their store, and having them 'reset' my connection many times, I went in and they said it was a faulty Sim Card. He replaced it there and then and put the same number on a Brand new Sim from the packet. They said it would start working in 4 hours, and I left. The new Sim had no effect on the problem I was having so I didnt bother going back there as I thought it must be the Phone, if the Sim is new.

So I got another spare XT phone from my flatmate. Another R100. And put the Brand new Sim into it.

Whatya know, same errors??? Ive rang Telecom and they say everything is perfect in their systems and it should be working. Ive gone through the setting sin the phones with them etc and they have checked from their end.

What could this possible be :S

Thanks for reading :)

Go into a Telecom store with your phone and don't leave until they have it working.
Either try a spare sim they have in here, or wait until the provisioning on the sim is done.  They say it should be done within 4 hours, but its more like 5 mins tops.

Are you holding it upside down?

It sounds to me like your phone number is blocked on the network side, while showing ok on their management systems. Call Telecom again, ask to talk to another level of support and tell them that this number was previously blocked and this is a new SIM.

Try a shrink-wrapped, new phone. "Spares" from mates can be stolen, blocked, broken....who knows...

I think this is your problem as this has happened once before when one of our users "lost" their phone and put a block on their number. It took 3 goes to get hold of someone who knew what to do to fix it.
