I heard the other day that Telecom are not going to be selling the N8 after all.  If this is so, a big thumbs down to Telecom.  Can anyone confirm this?

Is Telecom going to stock any of the new Nokias, i.e. the E7 etc?

Telecom really do need to get their game sorted when it comes to the mobile phones they stock, they are always well behind the curve with the phones they offer either being late to the market, introducing old technology, or not even bothering to offer popular phones.

Why do you have to get it from Telecom though? Since the N8 is compatible on any network in NZ, might as well get it from either Vodafone or an importer. It's easy:)

That's all very well unless you were looking to take it on a plan and get the phome at a subsidised rate.

Perhaps Telecom are not looking to retain their mobile customers.

Agreed, my point was they are very slow to the market with a phone or they leave a out many popular ones.

Their first Andriod came with an early/outdated version of software.

Looking at the Nokia 5800 as an example, this has been a very popular phone, telecom never sold it.  The N8 is selling quite well from what I hear so it would seem to be a good choice of phone to offer.

Dont see it as a major issue really. You have absolute freedom of choice to get your own unlocked handset and use it on XT. Limited choice of handsets isnt an issue anymore. Definitely back in the CDMA days but not now.

I've saved hundreds of dollars with my current AT&T Captivate and my previous handset, an HTC Touch Pro2 from Telstra. Telecom still gettng my custom regardless.

If the Nokia N8 had hardware more to my liking, I definitely would have had the Voda one and used it on XT.

- Telstra HTC Touch Pro2 - Energy ROM WM6.5.5 20 Oct/Cyanogen Mod Froyo 2.2 - R.I.P
- AT&T Galaxy S Captivate 16GB on XT (now with brother)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 on XT- Runs ICS 4.0.3 Resurrection Remix 9.2
- Business Hours - Work In The Electricity Industry, After Hours - DJ/Turntablist - Will Scratch Vinyl For Free'
- What's next??? S3?

If you buy from a parallel importer you usually save more money than what you would get on a subsidy anyway.

Maybe Telecom were having issues with S/W or something. Simple answer as the rest have said.... Buy Elsewhere.

For the price they planned to sell it at, I doubt you would have purchased one anyway
