Just moved into a new flat not long ago. After a week i realised the net was a bit underwhelming, so looked into the router for sync speed etc, found that i was stuck at the maximum adsl sync rate, thought this was weird as the router was at adsl2+ speeds at my previous address, so i was just digging a little deeper when i found out this little gem.

Checked the telecom wholesale page, the whole of blenheim has Adsl2+, except for my cabinet! which isnt getting a refit till september this year.. To make things even worse, the whole town will be laid in Vdsl2 in feburary this year (half the town is in vdsl2 already), no sign of my cabinet even getting it, its not on the upgrade list. How can this be? surely while retrofitting them all with vdsl2 gear in feburary they could do ours at the same time, or at least put in some adsl2+ gear! Talk about feeling left out lol.

I dont live out in the boondocks, its a suburb of blenheim and isnt any further to the exchange than other suburbs. My cabinet is BM/E for anyone interested in a laugh

The line cards they have been installing in the ISAM's in the cabinets are multi mode they support both ASDL2+ and VDSL2, it's just they won't offer VDSL2 until they have finished testing/piloting it.

Basically they don't need to retro fit any of the recent cabinets, just the ones done very early in the programme (I believe).

There may be some reason why you area got bumped... couldn't extend fibre backhaul there easily, consent was delay or something like that.. or even possible no reason at all..

I mean bottom line is: some area has to be first and some other area has to be last... cest la via / such is life!
