my mum had a nokia 6225 and she is on a 2 year contract i showed her the sanyo 5600 and she wanted that one so we went to the telecom store and sed to them we wanted to get a sanyo 5600 on tick but with mum's contract on it so the store done a lost or stolen phone upgrade cut the old phone off and connected the new phone with the same number. i would like to no do yous think that they would reconnect the old phone once her contract has run out?

i don't no what else i can do with it if they don't reconnect it i can't realy sell it and it would be a shame to let a good phone go to waste

this last bit is a littie off topic but is the site runing out of banwdith or something i was on the site at 12:30am and it tok the site a long time to responed to my reQuest's. it's not my speed or anything

If the phone was reported "stolen" I think that reduces the chance of using it again, but it really depends on Telecom.

As for the site, it could be anything, but it is not bandwidth allocation, since we have no traffic limits, and the load is now split between two servers.

I think thats just the way telecom upgrade it on there form they have to fill, or maybe the employee stole the phone and gave them that, just joking!

Correct me if I am wrong

He didnt mention insurance.

Telecoms "Lost and Stolen" process was an easy way to upgrade any contract phone, using the prepaid price, and not altering the existing contract term.

Recently, they started enforcing the locking of ESN numbers, to prevent the widespread misuse of the lost/stolen facility, which seemed to be treated as a free-for-all method of upgrading someone who had no other options.

I beleive now it may only be done where the phone is actually lost, or stolen.

And no, I doubt the ESN will ever be unlocked again.

Under current business rules for a lost / stolen (and FYI now damaged phones are included in this process, as well as external Insurance claims) upgrade, the existing ESN will be marked / locked as stolen / lost, and will not be unlocked. Of course this all depends on the Dealer Support Rep, who must lock the ESN, and at times they as with all of us forget to do things.

If you want you can PM me with the ESN, I'll tell you what they have done.

I find the original author's message is a bit cryptic and hard to read, without the correct use (in fact without the use) of punctuation and the wrong substitution of words for "know" and "no". It made the message a bit confusing and hard to understand. Sorry if I upset you, but please express eloquently and consicely, to help bringing across your message clearly.

Take a bit of time to read through the message you typed and correct spellings and making sure the message do make sense before posting. If you spotted errors or spelling mistakes, you can always "edit" your message.

Well spotted.

See even I do make mistakes. I don't think myself as perfect, however I do endeavour to be as accurate and as clear as much as I possibly can.

But the initial author of this topic just doesn't "obey the rule" of composing a message, with total lack of punctuations, just make it really really hard to understand.
