I'm not exactly sure whether my problem is with my hosting company, or my Telecom ADSL connection, or even if its my netbook + pc, or router. So this post isnt meant as a anti Telecom NZ one at all, sorry if i've popped it in the wrong thread.

I host four sites with a company called Hosting-NZ (these ones: 1, 2, 3, 4), last night they were working fine from my home ADSL connection which has been with Telecom for three days now. This morning they keep timing out. I've reset my router to factory settings, cleared cache/history on all PC's on my network and the sites still time out. Though when I connect through my 2degrees mobile phone via bluetooth it works fine.

Any ideas? Before submitting a support ticket to Telecom or Hosting NZ I just want to make sure its not something wrong with my router / netbook / pc (which I feel it is). I've tried from Windows + Ubuntu, and in Safari, Explorer, Firefox..

Good Afternoon,

This will not be an issue with Telecom - most likely is your IP address has been blocked in our firewall.

Please contact us with your IP address so we can find out why your IP is blocked, and what needs to be done to prevent it from happening.

Kind Regards,

Thanks Hamish, didnt think it was a Telecom issue, i've just presumed it was an issue with my router. Have emailed your info@hostin.... email address now with my I.P address.

Just had this email from Hosting-NZ. This thread can probably be taken out of the TelecomNZ forum. Was my fault, dodgy Wordpress plugin.

Looks like you are setting off a Modsec rule:
http://www.modsecurity.org/

Mod Security is like a firewall for web apps, it identifies what it believes to be malicious attempts to inject code etc and blocks the offending IP address. Some WordPress plugins etc are known to set off some rules. Please advise us immediately if this happens again so we can check the modsec log and find out why it is happening.

Here is your entry in the firewall block list:
xxxxxxxxxx # lfd: (mod_security) mod_security triggered by 115.188.240.160 (NZ/New Zealand/xxxxxxxxxxx.jetstream.xtra.co.nz): 5 in the last 300 secs - Wed Nov  9 00:17:39 2011

Happy to move it but don't think there is a better suited forum for it.
