I'm out of contract with Telecom Broadband (ADSL over POTS). It's been a good run but with Vodafone upping their caps twice this year it's making little sense for me to stay with Telecom on the current plan we have. And at every price point Vodafone is clearly better.

More for the same surely is better? Especially since I've heard from people on Vodafone who have been happy (despite being in Dunedin, outside of the red network).

Does anyone know of any offers Telecom currently has? I'm happy to re-sign with them if it gives me something similar to Vodafone's offering but I can't find any such offers.

I cant speak to any expierence with vodafone residential, but all 6 business clients of mine that switched over, went 2-3 days without ADSL broadband because of screwups on vodafones side.

Just be careful about wanting to go cheap.

Telecom may be more expensive, but they have really improved their customer service and quality of the broadband service over the last 3 years.

Can't say the same as the other guy above, had no issues here, works fine and free MySKY HDi on some of higher-end plans.

I've spoken to several people about this because I know cheaper is usually worse but all are quite savvy and reported being extremely satisfied. Once again I'm not suggesting they are "better" than Telecom, but if I'm paying more for the same thing I have to question why.

I changed from Telecom to VF just after Telecom dropped the unlimited plan and have had a good run, the Myski HDi upgrade was a nice cherry on the top allowing me to upgrade our second decoder. My only complaint is my modem/router keeps dropping out/ resetting and so forth but there again it is the freebie Thomson Telecom gave me for free a while back so no blame either way I should just buy a new one :P

I'm about to leap. I had a 'Loyalty Discount' with telecom, which they never told me was a limited time thing and it stopped last month.
The VF MySky deal is the clincher.

Tcom will begin offering sky packages again soon ... there is no detail yet however.

I have seen rumours of that, so was just procrastinating in case it happened as soon as I switched (which is my normal luck).
