Its coming up to the busy hour for mobile networks there is going to be congestion in many places

I can imagine. Zillions of Facebook updates with pictures, Twitter with pics.. SMS, PXT..

XT-2D was a delay of 4 hrs last night
My brother need a ride at 1am from a party he was able to walk home(2hrs) before i got the messages at 5am was pretty bad.

SMS is a best effort service, and I think it you asked 99% of the population they'd all expect some form of delay on New Years Eve due to the amount of traffic on networks. This is something that occurs every year.

i called and theres nothing they can do about it. :(
its an new phone too.was working great on vodafone before the port over.

There were apparently major data issues for a short while around then, and then further issues from around 1am until around 4am.
