I've been on Skinny since mid Jan, has been mostly plain sailing but still a few bugs. Since a Skinny rep is active on these forums thought would make a single thread for people to post their issues as they arise. I'll edit the first post with a full list, adding fixes etc.

1. Caller ID not working (iphone only?) I brought my iphone with me from the UK, helpful Skinny CSR suggested changing region setting to NZ (Settings, General, International, Region Format). If didn't work straight away but after 5 mins or so all my txts etc had names instead of numbers. I also have all numbers in full format (+64 etc) but discovered if I have a Skinny cellphone number in contacts (+64 204 xxxxxxx) and that person rings me it just comes up the number again. Removing the +64 and changing back to normal format (0204 xxxxxxx) fixes this, but shouldn't have to do this. Note that I can ring the person fine when in full format, just caller ID when they call doesn't work.

2. Netcode for ASB Banking doesn't work. When making a large transaction ASB will text a code to your phone to verify it, I never received the txt, rang bank to double check they had the right number. Skinny CSR told me they were aware of the issue and were working on it.

3. TXT-a-Park doesn't work. Try to txt payment for pay and display parking in Auckland, get error message. Again Skinny CSR said they are working on it.

4. Personal hotspot (iphone only) doesn't work, they are working with Apple on fix.

It appears that this issue isn't just ASB, but also at least National and Kiwibank also.

Without knocking Skinny on this txt a park is clearly advertised as a Vodafone and Telecom only product. It doesn't work on any other network or MVNO because none of these have entered into commercial agreements with the service provider.

While Skinny is working on these things we take for granted on other operators, I think I will stick to their data plan for now (using Wi-Fi hotspot) and not transfer my phone to Skinny until these issues are sorted.

Texting Tranz Metro on the short code 3696 to activate the text alerts for Tranz Metro delays in the Wellington Region doesn't work. Works on ALL other networks.
Skinny contact centre didn't seem to want to know to be honest.

Hi, resolving short codes is on the plan, but I don't have a date for it yet.  I will add a post when it is resolved.  Cheers Paul

I'm not sure if it's Skinny or Trademe, but I no longer get the text notifications an hour before an auction ends.

Anyone else?

The Wi-Fi hotspot feature? Would this not be an issue with the phone itself? Maybe I am just showing my ignorance here. As long as you are getting 3G data from your provider it is up to the phone to broadcast the wifi.

Wifi Hotspot feature works perfect if you install the Skinny profile I believe. I manually add wapaccess.co.nz into the mobile hotspot APN config page and it works great after a few mins of fuffing about.

Hi for data we send out a notification when you get to 80%.  It is hard to trigger a text notification at exactly 100% so better that we give you a bit of advance warning that you are approaching the limit.  Cheers Paul
