I use Add Block Pro by default on the web, but I thought I would help Geekzone by turning it off. Not that I ever click on the adds anyway, but still the thought was there.

Man what a shock In a forum thread I counted 11 advert blocks, the square one in the Messagebox, currently advertising Jucy, just overly intrusive.

Sorry Geekzone but the addblocker came back on, there is just too much of an assault on the eyes. Somestime the persuit of money just ruins the users experience.

Twenty five bucks a year (just over $2 a month) is very little to help support this site and make the ads go away. smile

you mean the pursuit of money to pay for the running of the forum? because without that money there wouldn't be a forum at all

I actually didn't notice there were that many on a page until you quoted that number. I don't think they're that intrusive at all. I've seen a lot worse...

I frequent a few forums and find it a bit laughable that the "geek" one is the most outdated.

I currently use an ad blocker because the visual assault is almost painful - quite happy to pay $25/yr but not for a forum that doesnt even take you to the latest unread post in a topic.

Clicking the blue box with the green arrow on it should take you to the last unread post.

A dammed good site run by an individual and a small group of volunteers for the pleasure of many and help for a lot, $25 is a small price to pay towards the costs of hosting, maintenance, administration and development.

Now that we've cleared that one up it's time for you to pay your money so you don't see ads.

I have zero tolerance for any advertising on any website.

NO exceptions.

I love this site, so I subscribe to it.  smile

I subscribe but chose to keep ads turned on.

I wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to go shopping.

Unfortunately there's more to it than that one example
