I got 2 this morning, one from a person I have seen on geekzone for a long time (so I accepted) but the other I didn't know, and their profile was pretty blank (no picture, no badges, no starting posts).

Admins???

kiwitrc/scottjpalmer - are these requests from established members? Or new ones?

Looks like it was a new feature back in 2007.

I got 3 today. Maybe it has taken 5 years for them to kick in?

I got three overnight too... certainly seems odd. Glitch?

Mauricio will enlighten us once he has tended to the ranch. In the mean time, bask in glory of being wanted :-p

Ah. I wonder if Mauricio just fixed some code and now we're all getting emails for friend requests that we actually 'received' months ago?

Yes, those are all requests that were supposed to be sent month, years ago - seriously!

While looking at that other thread linked above I found a problem with email from that specific part of the system and fixed it last night - so no more Pending Friend Request from banned people clogging up the page and emails are now actually delivered.

So I took an executive decision to resend all the emails - because no one ever looks at the menu on top of the pages:

Some people would have that "Pending friend requests" link in the menu for years and never clicked on that...
