GZ has a large number of specalised forums, some of which do not apply to any of my interests.

Is there any way to customise the view to hide them?

Thanks,
DarthKermit :-)

Nope. But you can use the [Auto Watch] and [Watch Forum]:

- Auto Watch will automatically subscribe to any new discussions in that forum (the same as if you had replied to them).
- Watch Forum will send you an email when a new discussion is created, but no more notifications for that discussion unless you reply to it (or click the [Watch Topic] button in the thread).

Then get a rule to send those emails to a folder that you can then monitor to see when new discussions popup...

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I had another question related to this original thread.

Would it be possible to alter GZ so that users can expand/collapse the forum groups? So you have to expand the group to see the sub forums under it.

Thanks for considering my idea freitasm.

I thought of it while using Microsoft Outlook. That software has [+] and [-] buttons to expand/collapse your emails into groups of dates.

While we're at changes to the forum. Any chance of getting the "reset read flags" moved from next to the "New Forum Posts" link??

How about just using vBulletin? Integration can be a bear sometimes, but you're reinventing the wheel and doing maintenance that could be saved by paying a few hundred dollars and a maintenance fee.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Heh I've done that before, hit "reset read flags" when I meant to hit "new forum posts".

Could just put a some javascript on that link that opens a confirm dialogue before doing it's normal action.

Please don't make "reset read flags" pop up a confirmation. I use it all the time and it'd just be annoying. Just click the link you want, if you get it wrong, tough luck. You'll learn.
