Our current content partner is moving/pivoting its business model.

I am told at short notice that from tomorrow 31st of January we will not have access to new job listings.

There is an indication this may resume at later date but I cannot guarantee this happening.

As it is Geekzone Jobs will not have new jobs listings from tomorrow.

That's a bugger - just when I'm starting to look! Hope things sort themselves out.

That is rather unfortunate, I always found the GZ Jobs to be quite relevant, and easy to access

I have never looked on that site before until now, but some of the jobs look to be very well paid. A pity it's going, perhaps an opportunity for someone else to setup a new jobs website.

The content provider is moving away from its current position in the market and changing how they do things. I will be talking to them to see how we can change things to adapt.

This means from today we won't have new job listings, but it may come back in a few weeks, or we might change content providers.

As for creating a new site... Geekzone Jobs is a niche for IT job seekers. Pretty much all listings we have are the same as Trade Me Jobs and Seek. We do not try to compete with them, just filter the jobs to an IT selection.

Creating a new site is hard - probably one of the reasons our content provider is changing course. Hard to compete with Trade Me Jobs and Seek.

We never made money on Geekzone Jobs, it was more of a service to the community.

Can you just leave it as a semi-open forum so we can post pointers to jobs that we are aware of in our areas/workplaces. Like a word of mouth, grapevine thing? Just in the meantime.

That is how it was before. We can certainly move in that direction but at the moment I am exploring a couple of alternative source of content and will decide soon.

Ok, just had a call with our content provider and it seems the status quo remains. We should not have an interruption in our feeds and jobs will continue to be listed on the site.

It looked that way to me too... but when I clicked through a number of jobs they all seem to be temporary\contract jobs. They're still well paid, but not quite the same as an annual salary which they look a bit like the way they're presented in the search results.

It appears that GZ jobs is now throwing an internal server error?

I am in the final steps of introducing a new content provider that will add more diverse listings to the Geekzone Jobs. All going well, it should go live tomorrow or the day after.

If anyone finds out who is the provider and how they found out about it, post here and I will send you a chocolate bar. (True, but you have to explain how you found out).

Right... No one found out about the new provider. I have "soft launched" it now, just started loading a few jobs from now.

Am I reading the little icon correct, Trademe Jobs?

Edit: Just went into a listing and saw the large icon :)
