I noticed geekzone blogs are using Disqus now.

It seems to take ages to load.. and so now I have to sign in with a third party account (al la open id) or register and account with Disqus when I'm already logged in on geekzone?

Do not like Frown

For comparison I like gameplanet's news/blog with forum thread style

eg:

Disqus loads pretty fast, unless your ISP is having problems with CDNs or international links.

Using Disqus actually seems to get more people to comment - and it's more social because people can follow others and find new blogs based on who they are following.

Also it allows for threaded comments and reply notifications, something people have asked for before.

It doesn't work for me on my work laptop as our proxy classifies it as 'social media' and blocks it.
