I was going to post a contract role opportunity, but noticed the Jobs section in Forums no longer exists...

Is TradeMe and SEEK my only options these days?

Is it appropriate/acceptable to post jobs in the General or Wanted/Offered section?

Thanks Scott, I have looked at it, which tells me to submit jobs to TradeMe, hence I was wondering if TradeMe and SEEK are my only options...

The number of job listings were really small for an independent job board. Geekzone Jobs has been the "jobs listing" for Geekzone for years now and we partnered with Trade Me to get their IT listings here.

We will be working through the next few months to introduce changes that will make going to the job description quicker and we might even work on creating targeted job listings if we have members' profiles.

The caveat here is that all job listings go through Trade Me. The good thing is that people can find the job listings straight here on Geekzone.

All good :)

I'm not a big fan of TradeMe or SEEK, hence I usually recruit through LinkedIn or various technical forums.

The appeal of GeekZone and other technical forums is that it felt a bit more geek-to-geek rather than meat market :)

You can always put a message in the appropriate forum (Development, IT Pro)... But certainly not a place for agencies to post offerings, etc.
