Was thinking of this in terms of the offers and wanted in particular, but it could be used through the rest of the forum I think too.
If we had some sort of user voted reputation system for members, it would be a good way of knowing if they are trustworthy or not. For instance, I have had a trade with a member of the forums and it goes well, I can increase their rep to show they are trustworthy. If I find a user is answers a question well, I can increase their rep to show that they are a good source of information.
Not sure what is possible or if this is a good idea, but thought I would put it out there and see what the forums think.

This is one of the things where the +1 helps. Not exactly the same but it's part of a "reputation system".

On that Mauricio, how do some members become 'Trusted'?

Just wondering.

Just had a better look and I think the plus one system works for the second part, but does not cover the trustworthiness of a seller and how good of a seller/buyer they are.

The member is known to one of the moderators in real life, attended a pizza event or belongs to a company that supports the forum users (so they need the trusted+company status to be allowed to ask for details, accounts, etc via PM).

Is it just me or has the +1 system stopped working?  Whenever I click the button it says "Please refresh page and try again."  This is in my Opera browser, which is my day-to-day browser cos I like all of it's features.  Spose I should test it in another browser but it used to work find in Opera.

I usually look at how long a person has been a member of GZ and that gives me an idea , as well as what threads they post to so would think if someone had a bad experience it would be known and dealt with.

Not sure if if its a good idea or not as GZ isn't a trading forum as others are better setup for that sort of thing.

Must be Opera then. I just tried it in Firefox and it worked ok.

But it definitely used to work ok in Opera when it was first introduced. Maybe Mauricio can say if he changed how it worked recently?

Nothing has been changed on that for months. Opera on the other hand...

Yeah I know, everyone looks at me as if I'm an idiot for liking Opera...

Maybe you can figure out under what circumstances is says "Please refresh page and try again."?  I assume that it's a pretty simple AJAX call back to the server, which Opera can normally handle just fine.

Yeah?  That's strange because that's the same version that I'm running.  I'll try it from home over the weekend and see what happens, it might be something specific to my work PC.

Ok I've tried it at home and it works fine! So it must be something to do with my work PC. Both versions of Opera are the same, maybe a firewall setting? On Monday I'll do some more investigating.
