As a (currently) active participant in many different forums here recently, I keep going back to check 'new' posts in topics I'm participating in... Only to see the 'new' post was often my own last post there?

Is there a way that the 'new post' tag could ignore the logged user's own posts please?

Ergo, I'd then only see threads that have changed since I last read or posted in them?

I watch any thread i post in/actively have an interest in it... although the emails can sometimes be a little slow to come in.

otherwise, i use Geekzone Live to see the recent posts and such... which is pretty effective...

Hence the title?

ON GZ Live I keep getting told there are new posts, but they turn out to be my own posts from 15 minutes ago, since my 'read' last reset?

oh i miss read that... thought you meant you were looking at the normal pages!

was a thread somewhere around here about the new tag...

i normally do it by last poster... pretty quickly spot when its a "new" post in the thread..

but emails are generally a bit more reliable to do that..

yup, and that works, but seems like a superfluous step to me every time I have checked in?

Basically, why does it tell me that I have added to a thread... that's like being emailed a confirmation every time I emailed someone, without a way to stop it?
