I've just tried to do a few site searches and all that came up were adds. Anyone else?

Using an iPad with Safari.

It looks like Google is playing up with something.

Ads (for advertising)... People confuse ads/adds or auto-corrects "fixes" for them.

Either way, it seems like something Google is doing because even trying it in the Custom Search configuration page returns no results.

In the meantime you can use Google and add site:geekzone.co.nz at the end of your search query to limit to our site only.

I've always found the GZ site search a bit of hit n miss, mainly miss .. Are there any guidelines on how to use the search function, like limiting to a year, or range of years, or a particular forum ?

It is a Google search box, so whatever you can do on Google search you can do there.

My Google-Fu ain't that great - for example, how would I search for TVNZ streaming services in the Online Streaming Services forum, and limit the search to 2013 and 2014 ?
Google didnt really help answer that question cry.

What I would suggest is a brief set of search commands that would assist with the GZ search function, and add it to the Geekzone forum as a sticky. This could help with minimising duplicate, or nearly-duplicate postings.
