Hey guys,

I couldn't help but notice that the forums are depressingly empty (Only 46 topics in the entiree forum tree). Does this reflect the site traffic?

Interesting question... The answer is no, it does not reflect the traffic.

Have a look in our stats page. We have something like 1,200 visits a day, and peaks of 4,500 (last week). It's just interesting how folks come here, have a look in the news, register, but actually do not interact...

Take this thread... I've posted it to start some discussion on this topic, and to find out more about our readers. But got no replies there.

I'm surprised with this too. Suggestions?

What can be done to boost activity in the forums?

I usually frequent the usual suspects, Brighthand, PocketPCPassion, PocketPCthoughts. Although Pocketpcpassion's activity has dropped greatly.

Paula, thanks for you interest on this...

When I posted the reply above Geekzone was only two months old. Since then we've passed 2 million pages served, and more than 20,000 pages served daily.

I think this is a good number, being based in New Zealand. The way I see things here is that most people come to read news, and go to Brighthand or Pocket PC Thoughts for discussion.

I'd love to increase the movement in the forums, but I guess the majority of folks go back to their "home" base for this. And the number of kiwis interested in handheld, mobile and mobility is not that big - yet.

If you have any suggestions, please send me something - you can use the contact links.

If I have any A-HAs I will let you know.

With all the $$ Telecom is putting into advertising mobility these days maybe interest will peak soon. I love the fact that all these wireless APs are bring put up around the CBD and places where people shop and play. Hopefully this will help as well.

Well, I came to this site from a search on gooooogle, nz sites, keywords 'alcatel one touch max' as my son wants me to buy his friends old one.
I was hopeing to get info on it and hav'nt found anything that helps.
What about a forum on older cell's - the good and back on them, even a searchable data base?

Coolio, I've now created a forum specific for Dell Axim users. Enjoy.

The Asus is also gaining in popularity. You may want to also create a forum for that device.

Raynne413, I've also created a forum for Asus users.

By the way, reading this thread, which started one year ago is kind of fun. At that time we 1,200 page views a day. We now have this in a few minutes. I was happy with that performance then. You can imagine how things are here now. How things change...

Cheers!
