This is a new K112

When I put it on the charger, it shows an hourglass, then Charging – Phone is off – powering down

It does not appear to have a battery or simcard. Is this normal?

My guess - go look in the box and look for a flat rectangular object in a plastic packet. This may have markings like + or - on it.

Insert in rear of phone & plug in charger.

No simcard - its Telecom phone.

Thanks for the reply. I have now discovered that it did not need a battery or a simcard. It was simply a faulty unit & the Telstra shop replaced it.
