I've found Geekzone to be a great site over the past couple of years, particularly the mix of technology and off-topic discussions, and the prompt and insightful answers to general and specific technical issues.

I'm moving to Australia in a couple of months, and will have to go through the process of setting up phone/mobiles/internet/TV etc. over there, along with learning the specifics of 'how things work' in the Australian market.

Can anyone suggest an Australian online community that is similar in nature to Geekzone? I don't expect it to be as good as Geekzone (and I will continue to be a regular visitor here) but I think an Australian-based community will probably be the first port of call for my Aussie-specific questions...

Google gives me a few options, but little information on the quality of the site and its community. Anyone aware of Geekzone's Australian equivalent(s)?

Ash

Off the top of my head, whirlpool is the one I visit when I'm after something for Aus:

Take a look and see if it's to your liking.

Ash

You beat me to asking the same question. I am leaving for Perth in the next few months and have the questions. I am not sure if we will find another site as good as Geekzone. Perhaps our GZ mod will direct us to a site. Also what are their broadband plans like there, speed, prices  etc.

Thanks

Hoosein

What dragged you both to Perth? Are you trying to get as far away from NZ as possible while still being able to say you live in Australia/NZ ? Tongue out

PS: I second the whirlpool nomination. It's an excellent site for Australian info.
