Hey mauricio,

I have been looking at your site and i am intrigued to learn/find out more what/how you use RSS with forum and news and everything...

and i just noticed that you provide LiveMessage Alerts (.NET Alerts) too, i've signed up for it... anyhow, my main questions are regarding .NET Alerts and .NET Passport services.

I like to use .NET passport for my site, but when i looked at .NET Developer site for SDK, then i was completely lost... i don't know what I need to do to be able to provide a simple .NET login service (for a start)

p/s: the above buttons (javascript) doesn't work in Mozilla (Firefox)... :-(

Hmmm... the buttons work for me on Firefox. Perhaps you're blocking pop-up? There's no Javascript on those links, simply a href with target=_blank.

About the .Net alerts... I'm using a service from Messagecast, and we don't have any involvement in the authentication.

As for using .Net Passport for authentication, Microsoft is slowly phasing out this feature - and will use it for their own stuff. Most sites have already stopped using it, including Monster and eBay. Also, you have to pay a fee to certification.

Basically there's a SDK, you'll apply for a developer's id, and use it to test your site. Then you have to get a valid id for your site, and pay the sign up fee. Then use it.

my.... what a costly operation...

i like the .NET passport but after reading this... i can see why the .NET passport model adoption isn't that hot... and why eBay has dropped it. oh well.. guess we'll have to try ONE then. or implement a proprietary authentication system.

(p/s: popup blocker is as per usual in firefox... just the javascript isn't triggering the action... weird...)
