We are planning some maintenance for the Geekzone server this Monday, 30th August 2010, from 12pm.

Downtime should be around four to five hours. During that time a temp server will return 503 status to any HTTP requests to Geekzone and associated domains.

Email to @geekzone.co.nz addresses will not be affected.

In the meantime, please go outside or do some work.

I can now let you know that we have finalised plans to move the Geekzone servers to a new home.

There will be a couple of small changes, which include IP addresses, and a new logo in the footer.

We will make an announcement later who will be providing our new home...

Ok, things are progressing well and we should have the server moved this Monday as planned. IP addresses allocated, firewall changes being made, DNS TTL reduced to 30 minutes to allow quick(er) changes in the coming days...

This is our new logo box in the footer:



As you can see we will be moving to the new Datacom Datacentre in Albany.

Welcome aboard! Like I say, fingers crossed everything goes well during the move, but the new home is pretty slick. 3 generators, gigantic diesel tank under the driveway, and all the mod cons.

Sure you can. We just need photo ID, your first born child, and a full cavity search. Then you're free to enter the data center.
