I just saw the new add campaign for Pizza Hut, the one with the dog.   Just like any other really, but one difference, their adds now advertise their web site, something I haven't seen before.

Soooo, I check it out, see if they have gotten ride of the Dog that used to be there, and......they have!

A long time coming, Pizza Hut has finally redeveloped their online web ordering system.   Not sure if it is a new development company, but whatever they changed, it has worked.

Gone is the old clunky error riden site that would make any developer laugh histerically, now you can actually order pizza, customise it, save favourite pizzas, save favourite orders, and it is interactive, you can see what you have ordered, in pictures.

Not sure if it is a hole in one, but definately on par.

I noticed that too, the crosses change to ticks as the stores open, they must have automated it somehow.

Yesterday when I looked at it, it had a cross for delivery, but when i got home and checked, it had a tick, which makes sense as I don't think they start delivering until 4 pm.  Although, having said that, there is nothing there to tell you that it is a live store status.

I think they open at 11:30, try again then Cool

Hi,

I am project lead for the new Pizza Hut website.   I have just been told about the posts, and feel obligated to post a response, so here it is.

The comments by unoccupied are correct, the store locator function, and indeed the rest of the site, are very closely linked to the Pizza Hut call centre system (0800 83 83 83), this includes all customer information, menu information, prices and store status.   I concede however, that is not abundantly clear, taking on board the comments of chiefie, and I am in the process of implementing a change to the copy of the function to clearly state that the current status is actually real time.

If the store, or street has an X against it, this means, right at this second, these services are not available as the corresponding store is not open at the current time.   It does not mean that it never is, or that delivery is not normally available.

To chiefie specifically, if you have used the old site within the last 3 months, firstly sorry for your experience, secondly, your user details should have been active in the new system, please email me your details and I will ensure any issue is rectified.

To both, thanks for your comments, taking the time to check the site, and post in a forum.   If anyone has any feedback for the site they wish to share with us (Pizza Hut or the Developers), good or bad, there is a feedback page on the www.pizzahut.co.nz site that goes directly to me.

Thanks

Corey

Cool! awesome reply...

Now i'm more clear with the operation of Pizzahut.co.nz.

I will give my login another try later tonight. I used the old pizza hut online since 6 years ago, and was great... i was able to do the same thing as Angela Bennett.

While we're here.. how's the Pizza Hut's TXT order? is that service still on? I registered for it years ago but never really use it. simply because i never remember the code for what pizza, and my fav thin'n'crispy cheese lover is not part of the quickcode if i remember correctly.

Beside, it seems like Pizza Hut is not actively promote that anymore...

Hi Chiefie,

The text ordering is now no longer active, I believe TXT Code still advertise it, but I am told it definately does not work.   We stopped it as it was not a totally user friendly way to order, and you had a very limited selection.

Let me know if you have any other issues with the site.

Cheers

Corey

Maybe you could sell your system to Pizza Hutt in Aussie, they have just shut down their online ordering apparently because it was "old and unpopular"

http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/soa/Pizza_Hut_goes_cold_on_Web_ordering/0,2000061791,39238393,00.htm

Makes you really wonder about the mentality of the business owners - why would you shut down something just because it's old and have no plans to replacement for the product or any plans to reintroduce the service?? Hell Pizzas can tell you how amazingly succesful online ordering is if you get the formula right and Pizza Hut in NZ obviously believe the same thing to be enhancing their online presence!

My only complaint with Pizza Hut at present is the fact they closed down the last remaining restaurant in the lower NI, no more cheap all you can eat lunch at Paraparaumu now!

Oh i found something missing from new Pizza Hut Online...

the Half-n-Half configuration.

I've only used this twice, the first time was not a good experience as it told me the order cannot be processed, and not knowing whether it is ordered and will pay with cash. It just gave me an error saying the order cannot be processed. Called up the Pizza Hut 0800 and told them, and they said they got the order, and I just remind them that I had put the order through 3 times.

Few suggestions:

1) an indicator on the Flash to state whether the user is logged on or not, a simple "You are logged in" dialog box when logging in isn't very indicative.

2) When going into "Edit Profile", the previously entered address is not displayed, in fact it is gone. And when you move to another menu, the unfilled in address (because you were doing a review on your profile) is saved, rendered the future delivery address blank. While at there, can the the download for "Auto Login" be placed elsewhere? Because at the moment, each time i go review/edit profile to download login, i lost my address.

3) when checking out, upon checking for delivery address, the House/Flat/Street don't seem to be accurate. my case: my address is 314B Stone Austin Avenue. But the displayed address is [blank] [2] 314 Stone Austin Avenue.

I hope to see more improvement made, but at the moment, they're working ok. Just ok.

Hey Corey, Tim M here (came out and saw you Brinder and Kerry in December). Half n Half selection was good, is this going to make its way back into the online ordering system?

Cheers
Tim

Hi again,

Yes, half and half are planned for a phase 2 release, sometime in the next couple of months hopefully.

At that time, we will be providing a couple of "Our Ideas", and a few enhancements based on feedback to date.

Chiefie, if possible, could you make contact through the pizzahut.co.nz site, so I might contact you directly to recreate/fix the issue you experienced?

HTH

Corey
