Just wondering - how does the search facility work?

I was looking for a post but the site does not seem to be very intuitive on how to go about doing this.

It works exactly like Google, since it's powered by Google Search... Just enter one or more words and you can use the Google syntax:

You type in what you are after, and it finds anything that matches.  I'm not quite sure how intuitive you are after.

Thats the problem, first time I tried it didnt bring back any relevant results for me. I know the information is there, just cannot find it.

Took a while to work out that what appears to be a web search control is a site search control, and that doing a web search displays another site search control (that is actually marked as such).

I suppose asking how one gets a list of threads one has posted in (not created) is out of the question then?

The first field in the menu, marked as "Google Custom Search" and followed by a "SEARCH" button does exactly that - it searches on Geekzone only.

Hmmm. We can't get that, but don't have a page showing it.

Would it be very difficult to provide 'Search this thread' functionality?

We would have to code our own search and leave Google out of it for that. I thought of that before, it might be something to explore later.
