I got a notification of a new GZ email, but when I go to read it all I see is this.

Looks broken to me.

I'm running firefox with ad blocking plugins (I hate all the flashing, moving, distracting ads everywhere). I've also blocked a massive bright section of the GZ forum pages that was annoying me a couple of months back, so there's a chance that might interferer with something - adblock blocking string below.

Doh - that fixed it! I see all kinds of bright, annoying advertising now though, so i'll answer the email and turn it back on.

It was my custom blocking rules, that I use to hide the annoying parts of the page that was doing it, not the default ad block rules.

I know advertising supports websites, but when it's so annoying and distracting people will block it.

I know advertising supports websites too, and I don't ever use ad blocks. I also have a stance of not providing support for people who does not support Geekzone in any way.

Disabling Adblock would be the obvious troubleshooting measure to take (and report on) ? :o

Thanks. Make sure to change your profile options to hide signatures, the right-hand column in forums and ads. Then tell us how faster it is...

Done. I browse in multiple tabs so speed isn't affected. That bright yellow banner at the top of the screen's annoying, I think that's what I used adblock for before.

That yellow banner on top only shows up on Tuesdays to remind people about the NZTechPodcast recording and live chat.
