Did you check the Vodafone NZ status page?

Thanks. Will have to remember that one for next time.

I called the 0800 number, and was told there were no known issues in my area. Service had been restored by the time I eventually got through. However, I wanted to know if there were any known issues that might be responsible.
Was given the typical scripted response. Politely declined the request to recycle the modem.

Hopefully whatever caused the outage was a one-off.

So you did not power cycle the modem as requested?

Why?

Service had been restored. I maintained a consistent ping to the gateway throughout (which was fine).

I didn't see the point of any further unnecessary downtime (particularly as I'm not entirely convinced power cycling the modem was even related to the specific outage).
