Moving into new house and need new fibre and wife would also like Sky.

Seems might be bit cheaper with Vodafone deal but what do you channels do you get.

Basically seems to cost $139 for unlimited fibre and Vodafone TV.

From what I can work out Vodafone TV comes with box for recording (no idea how it compares to MySky box) free HD and 36 channels. Also mentions Vodafone Movies. Is that same as Sky movies? And presume 36 channels is same as Sky basic. If I also want sport have to pay extra for that?

Is that basically correct. And how do people using it find Vodafone compared to actual Sky. Ive heard its maybe not as good quality?

Its almost the same thing as Sky, comes with free box rental and free HD.

Vodafone movies is the equiv to Sky Box Office

No on-demand however.

My boss has Vodafone TV and today was complaining that SoHo content isn't available on Sky Go, implying that the "normal" channels are. I can ask specifically tomorrow but it certainly sounds like it's available.

I'm not too familiar with this as I don't have Sky or Vodafone TV myself, but it says you can "Catch up on all your favourite shows, whenever it suits you".

i install the vodafone boxes, and end users point out pretty fast the interface is a bit slower compared to sky

I have VodaTV at home, from when it was TelstraClear. I've never had sky direct from sky.

The channel packages are the same as sky's - TelstraClear used to have a different deal where they could get their own in addition to Sky, but Vodafone dropped all that and aligned with whatever Sky offers. I also have access to onDemand and SkyGo but I don't use it.

So Movies, Sports, Soho, Arts all cost extra - where there is cost difference is in using the decoders. The sky decoders have a smoother and quicker interface but cost more, the vodafone ones are the t-box design from 2009 with the slower interface and occasional brain farts where the box needs to be turned on and off.

I'm happier with the cheaper fees and no dish on the house (no fibre where I am, only cable)

There is still a handful of channels additional that are not available on Sky.

Thanks for info and feedback.
Actually going to go with different ISP and get Fan Pass, Neon and Netflix. Works out cheaper and more of what I want.
