Hi,

Just looking for a way forward or some advice.

In the last 3 days my voice quality on my s21ultra 18months old  on vodafone has been, rubberbanding for want of the better word chopping in and out on voice with a bit of delay.

Have restarted phone, all updates done.

Rang Vodafone business today, to be told its likely my sim or the phone.

Is this likely ?

Every time I've had a degradation in signal at home which is also my work location there have been network issues.

Last time it was spark 5g stomping on the vodafone sites.

Grateful for any advice.

Thanks Jeremy

"its likely my sim or the phone"

"So how do we fix that"?

@JeremyNzl You got told it could be the ' SIM card ' trick to get you off the phone!

The SIM card has zero to do with VoLTE and it will not be related to your handset

I wonder what staff member would say to customers with a eSIM

SIM = subscriber identity module not VoLTE voice quantity thingy

Do not accept any staff member telling you it is SIM card or handset related

FYI ex VodafoneNZ staff member 17+ years and part of my job was looking after SIM cards end to end from the technology side

^ interesting. Tell me what the purpose of a “SIM reset” is as a solve to all n sundry? It may have been anecdotal but it has helped with faults I’ve logged in the past.

Thankyou, I very much suspected I had hit the mental limit of the first tier support agent.

I have rung again just now, and questioned the advice give,

I have been given a ticket number and it has been escalated for investigation.

Thankyou for your advice

Linux: SIM reset huh?
indeed.  There's probably a more technical name for it but that's what I've had from Vodafone more times than I could count for a wide variety of faults

Sounds like a re-power your handset no such thing as a SIM reset

Many years ago the front line staff had switch reset that would delete the HLR profile and then reinsert it ' total waste of time unless you knew when to use it (going back to Cobra days before Siebel so pre 2003ish)

LOL, that will just disappear into Vodafone's fault system. Call them daily to follow it up.

I'll have to check with our account manager that i have weekly meetings with and see if he can tell me more.  I've got dozens of INC numbers where this was done.  Gonna be fun if they were pulling my leg!

Good point. "Frequently" might have been a better word to use.

It's in hand,

There are a couple of people taking it seriously and looking into it further.

That's a pretty fair result for today.

Appreciate the pointers.

Cheers Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, is your S21 connected to WiFi and if so, is VoWiFi enabled?  if not, give it a crack. Understand this isn't a fix for the VoLTE issues, but potentially a bypass while it's 'investigated'.
