johnr:
ramboky: Sooo... Was the work in Island Bay completed today?

The work is over 2 weeks from the 18th

Oh, ok. When you told me that the capacity work was going to be "done late next week" I assumed that meant it would be completed. Fair misunderstanding though.

I take it it has started then and I can expect it to be completed the first week of February?

I received an email from the project manager five minutes ago. There has been extensive background work and testing that has now successfully completed, took a bit longer than expected.

Plan is to currently work on some individual nodes on Tuesday. I'll update as we have lists of nodes etc.

Island Bay, 100/10 cable (speeds measured ethernet to modem):

TrueNet hourly speeds averaged over the last week (a mixture of "fast" and "slow" nights):

Tonight at 9pm:

Cable TV is stuttering and pixelated.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday undecided

It was fine for me when you first posted, but a few minutes after a bunch of things suddenly broke for me too. :(

EDIT
Not sure where the post prior to this one went. Seems to have disappeared.

Yes. I deleted it.

Things were a bit shaky though. Don't know why.

I think everything's back to normal.

Ah, fair enough. When you first posted, it was fine here. Then a couple of minutes later most things stopped loading. Then, yet another couple of minutes later, all was/is fine again...

Things were good for most of the weekend, but I started getting some horrible latency variances (rubberbanding) tonight while playing Rocket League. My other friends were hovering around 40 ms and I was shooting upwards of 150 ms at points.

EDIT
The connection in general is really bad tonight now. Speed test is showing sub-40 Mbps, with the first few seconds of a speed test not even hitting 20 Mbps.

That's exactly what i think every time you post in this thread. You don't have congestion problems and you never did, so how about you toddle off somewhere else and stop with the trolling.

Unfortunately the team ran into a couple of delays today so this work has been postponed to tomorrow. I'll update as I receive further confirmation from the project manager.

Not surprising, but still a shame. :( We're feeling the congestion tonight.
