Djmixerdomo: Was just phoned by Downer, the earliest time they could get someone around was Monday morning.

Guess I'll be looking at everyone else's speed tests over the weekend :/

I assume the 3 day install thing excludes weekends?

It doesn't say on the website but its safe to assume that it doesn't include weekends :/

Pretty sure I saw somewhere it said "Business days", plus my CSR did make that clear which I figured was the case anyway.

Yeah its business days only from what I got called up yesterday. Also @DjShadow, did you get an email confirmation and a ticket number when you put your order through? The CSR I dealt with gave me the reference number and made sure the email came through before she ended the call.

But on the flip side, I am yet to get a call from Downers to tee up an install time at my parents place.

No nothing at all from them, I wasn't too worried about it when I noted some others on this thread saying they have not received any order number

Just ordered Cable/FibreX and it works out cheaper than I am currently paying even with a staticIP. CSR did not mention any contract term so I think I was able to just do a speed upgrade?

The guy I spoke to said it was three working days, so yep.

Oh and probably worth noting that I got a call back today after my query about the static IP charge and have got confirmation that there won't be an additional charge for it since we already had one on the old 50/2 plan at my parents place. Which now means a total saving of $45 for them when you take into account the free sky sports offer but going from a 50/2 to a 200/20 plan. Not complaining one bit! Upgrading my one at home from 130/10 to the gig plan comes in at almost $30 under as well.

So I am assuming that it may apply to new customers only?

I've had my call from Downer, and they're coming tomorrow morning.

Sigh... just had a second call today from Downer, trying to book in my job for Monday. I mentioned they already called me earlier today, giving me an option of tomorrow morning or afternoon, and that I'd taken their morning 9:30-12:30 slot. They claim the system has no knowledge of it, so no install tomorrow for me. I was even able to tell them the exact time they called, because I posted here about it 2 minutes later. I'm pretty sure I was even talking to the same woman. Bummed out now...

Joining the waiting train. Website said I can get it, rang up and they said system says no.

I can't wait for speed, I want it now! The World is coming to an end! Maybe if I build Giant Wall so I don't see the internet anymore. Getting the internet to pay for it, of course.

Edit: Spelling/Grammar

Do worry! I just phoned them, and there was no record of the call from yesterday :-( . This time I have a reference number. Still no email yet. CSR today said the three days definitely starts counting from yesterday! She also said she was going to email the person I who didn't successfully place an order yesterday. Humm .... :-)

Downer rang today. They'll be here on Monday morning for the install.

Was almost hoping for that $100 credit... :P

They told me credit will only apply to new customers.

I checked again last night and their website now says it available at my address a mere 24 hours later. I am not keen on the 24 month contract thing but my wife wants to change to it.

I've just requested an upgrade to the Fibrex 200/20 with homeline, $15 p/m cheaper than my cable 50/2 plan!

Unfortunately not able to avail of both the free Sky Sports for a year AND the 6 months half price unlimited data plan.

Was that for 12 or 24 months? Also did you get one of those discounts. It wasn't clear.

It was 12 months with the free Sky Sports.

Were you currently on contract and did you have the option of 6 months half price unlimited data plan?
