DjShadow:

Had a lady ring me back this morning, had a feeling she was from the retention team also.

Took the option of free sky sport for 12 months which comes with a 12 month contract, she said they couldn't mix promos unfortunately so couldn't give me the 6 months half price but she calculated the free sky sport was a better offer money wise.

What prompted the call? Did you complain?

For people who are getting the $10 off per month for 12mo contract or $20 off per month for 24mo contract, is that only because you're a new customer?

I'd rather take that deal than free Sky Sports (anything I care about is online), and the $20 off per month over 24 months works out to about double what the half-price-for-6-months offer. Given we have no hope of even trying UFB before 2018, it seems to make sense to me (and means faster speeds for less than we're paying now, which is a nice bonus).

I just got a call too, in response to my post near the bottom of page 13 of this thread! I pointed out that I while I was sounding sceptical (well, didn't say that, but it is what I meant), I was not complaining, and general tone of this thread is mutual (IMHO) - at least until we start getting some connections and actual product performance.
Thanks for the call Vodafone dudes!

Just had some fun. After last night of being told not available. Rang this morning, first time they said they need to put me through to someone else, was put back onto the initial options menu where you choose the new orders or change of services or whatever the statement is.

Rang again, and got someone who couldn't tell the status of my contact, which I am out of. They rang back after checking and organised things but said the initial request has to go through to someone else who does the upgrade to send out the email and cost etc within a day or 2. She couldn't tell me the total cost of what the new plan would be.

So not exactly enamoured or confident in Vodafone's ability right now. Hopefully everything does work though seeing some peoples comments I'm not too sure.

"Gigabit" with the 12 month term, Free Sky Sport.

Extra Addition - I had no problems with the person I was talking to, I am more talking about customer service as a whole and my view of my contact with them as a whole in the past day.

I was talking to sales yesterday and then got put on hold, and then ended up talking to a guy in completely the wrong team who had no idea how I got to him.

Not the best start, so I took it as a sign to do more research first.

I think that offer is for the gigabit tier only (FibreX Max).

I find the individuals good to deal with... it's just the mistakes that get annoying.

I would agree with that. I would also say maybe training or information given to staff. I know it's impossible to ask for someone that knows everything and can do everything, but I would have hoped to be able to get overall pricing, confirmation and email all while on the call.

Existing customer.  Had the option of either the $10 or $20 per month off for the total contract, or the half price for 6 months.  Bigger savings over the 24 month term suited me.
gigabit tier since it was only going to be $20 a month more than what I was paying for 50Mbps currently.

Also, after calling up to order the upgrade yesterday, called today by Downers to book the install/upgrade.  That's booked for Monday morning.

Shall await that bit and figuring out how to bypass/bridge whatever device turns up so I can keep my existing network setup.

Downer have just finished my install. He had a few problems, so was here over an hour. I've seen a 860Mbps speedtest.
