Yet the press release above implies that the offering is permanent.

I think I will just sign up for one of the open term plans and if they reduce the data package at a later stage then I will pull the plug and go elsewhere.

So i guess the only thing spark can do now is allow tethering and hotspot to 22gigs then limit speed/tethering/hotspot after 22gigs.

Hmm, decisions decisions. I was all ready to give 2Degrees another go (moving from Spark) as they're the best value for my needs + $10 due to my BB being with them as well, but always been worried about coverage as I was with them when they first started out and I was dropping out constantly despite being in a Vodafone covered area where it should have "jumped on voda towers". 2D offer shared data for free by the looks of it, only $25 if you want to share calls/text as well..

Loving these new plans regardless - definitely needed the increased data

It really is an interesting times. I made the jump the other day from 1 telco to 2D on their 25gig plan (i will never use 25gigs but nice knowing i have the data and in a few months i might change down to 10gigs as i will have a lot of roll over data). I was worried about coverage etc with them as well. I did try them 2 years ago and was back on spark in 3 weeks as i had issues with data and it being slow in albany. But have to say i have not had any issues so far and its been over a week :)

Well these plans win me over, I'd rather go with work but network simply does not suit my location at this time.

I'll be changing my partner over to a share VF sim (from skinny) and dropping my spare PP sim for hotspot since the 0$ deal is here by the looks of it.

my biggest gripe.....

I must make a phonecall, i can't email, i can't open live chat i have to deal with an arcadic call.

maybe another provider may have a chance of offering something nice afterall..

That's good to hear - I guess I could always switch off if I find I'm having issues with coverage

( I'm confused by the terms, "$0 -1 month term", does that mean when the term expires in one month and then auto renews it's at the $10/month - or what ever the current charge is...

Means month to month no term contract at $0

Doesn't tell you when the "bonus" data ends

Havn't they been busted for this before?

That is, the "limited time offer!" that seems to run forever and is then suddenly cancelled it, but it'd been going for so long (with a specified end date) that they had to keep offering it?

Interesting times. A couple of weeks back I was all set to port my 2degrees prepaid to Vodafone on account. Then all these changes happened in the last free weeks which made me seriously reconsider porting over to Vodafone. Ended up just sticking with 2degrees and switching to their $55/1G0GB plan which was very easy to do on their website. I was also pleasantly surprised to see they applied my remaining prepaid credit against my first bill. Quite a nice touch.

This new announcement by Vodafone hasn't really made me change my mind. Too bad because had they announced this a few weeks back I may well had made the jump.

I previously favoured Vodafone because of their $5 a day roaming. But when I started thinking about my options properly I realised that my travels next year will be 95% Europe so I realised I'd be better off just using the EE UK SIM I already have and adding a data pack to that (which I can use in Europe with no roaming surcharge at least until Brexit becomes a reality). Would end up cheaper than Vodafone I suspect. They also offer some good deals elsewhere in the world as well so perhaps a NZ sim + EU sim strategy would work well if your travels bring you to Europe more than other countries (and the roaming deals for non-EU are better than what NZ carriers can offer).

@kiwisurfer VodafoneNZ has also always moved any prepay credit to the new on account invoice as well when moving from Prepay to Postpay

Edit: VodafoneUK roaming with no surcharges exceeded the EU ruling with more countries than required so make sure you check them out
