TinyTim:cokemaster:TinyTim:
Correct. VF says a text is WORTH 20c. I'd say that's pushing it just a bit.
I disagree. Its quite simple:
Don't pay for the $10 text addon pack, send 2000 sms and pay $400 on vodafone.
Or
Pay for the $10 text addon pack, send 2000 sms, effectively giving you $400 worth of texts for $10 on vodafone.
If you really want to compare the pricing to 2 degrees, you are still saving up to $180.
I know what the cost is, but is that what it's actually worth?
timestyles:bjhoogs:Ham: Then you get ripped when you call telecom or 2deg.. you can't win.
As I said, It's a mess
Maybe everyone should join vodafone so that no one ever needs to call telecom or 2 degrees. Problem solved.
Can we all please join 2 degrees instead? It'd be cheaper.
Ham: Something is only worth what someone will pay for it... End of story!
Personally I don't think they are worth .20c So if I have to pay that price I won't send one.
MikeyPI: Do you go into a restaurant and ask what is this food really worth?
Do you do that in the supermarket? They value of a product is dictate by what someone will pay for it.
MikeyPI:TinyTim: If I want to buy half a cubic metre of topsoil (a very related product...) I pay $50 for a trailerload, not $200 for fifty 10 litre bags at $4 each. The value of my dirt is $50, not $200. Yes I *could* pay $200 but nobody would do that. If the supplier turned to me and said that I'm getting $200 worth of dirt for $50 then that's... well, you know what I think it is.
Vodafone's other ads - e.g. "How much should you pay for a 60 minute call to the UK" - I have no problem with that wording.
OAO.
Pointloess analogy. I could go out the back and get dirt for free. SO your still overpaying.

michaelmurfy: if everyone was on Vodafone, things will be cheaper for all of us... It's just some of our mates choose to be on 2D and some like to be on Telecom. I actually feel slightly sorry for those people not being with a established network.

michaelmurfy: I still laugh at Telecom's failure with "Favorites" - Unlimited calling, but if you read down the bottom "Fair Use Policy Applies" - Now we all know what that means from Go Large :/
"All our Services are subject to this Fair Use Policy. We may apply this Fair Use Policy where in our reasonable opinion your use of our Services is excessive and/or unreasonable as detailed below.
We have developed this Fair Use Policy by reference to average customer profiles and estimated customer use of our Services.
If your use of our Services materially exceeds estimated use patterns over any month, then your use will be excessive and/or unreasonable.
If your use is excessive and/or unreasonable Vodafone may contact you to advise you that your use is in breach of this Fair Use Policy.
We may then request that you stop or alter your use to come within our Fair Use Policy. "

I understand that Vodafone has a Fair Use Policy in place regarding this. But not once have I seen a customer come back complaining "My bestmate got terminated" or anything like that.

Have you seen a Telecom customer complain that their 'favourites' got terminated?

mething or gone to a restaurant and on the way home though "Dam that so wasn't worth $xxx.xx?"
Quite a few people pay .20c per text.
Please can you, and several other people in this thread, return to junior math class and learn how to use decimal places correctly.
The price of a standard text on Vodafone is not 0.20c. It is actually 100 times greater at 20c or $0.20
