I have been reading this forum for a while, and found that others have had the same types of problems with the T-box which I sometimes encounter. I don't consider most of them to be biggies, and have found some good suggestions for solutions, especially the resets when things go haywire.

Over the weekend, I encountered an unusual problem. On Sunday, 23 October, I had set my Tbox to record Q + A on TV 1 at 9am and Marae Investigates at 10am on TV1. To my surprise, when I went to watch Marae Investigates later, I found that instead, the Tbox had recorded SkySport2, a Newcastle v Wigan game. I am a subscriber to SkySport channels, but NOT a fan of English soccer.

Have seen this type of problem reported by someone else on the forums, but can't remember if I saw a suggested solution. Just a blip in the schedule, or what?

Yes, many of us have had that occur. There's nothing you can do to get the real programme back (except watching it on TV On Demand). If you have a repeat recording then it'd pay to delete it and recreate it, with fingers crossed.

TelstraClear have said they are looking into this problem. I don't know whether it is caused by the EPG being wrong, or the T-Box recording the wrong programme.

Here's another for the collection of oddities around performance and behaviour of our beloved T-Box. A while ago I posted about an issue where the Box froze while navigating the planner when it was recording a show, we waited until the end of the program before rebooting it. Got around to watching the failed recording last night, it was supposed to be a 9:30-10:30 PM Channel Four show, what we actually watched when replaying the partial recording was misc bits of Rugrats and Sesame Street (Channel 4) presumably from the 6 AM slot onwards. Bizarre. I assume the software picked up a set of random disk sectors because it failed to complete the recording.

We also have another issue which is strange, a few times recently when the kids have turned the TV on the picture has been static to all intents and purposes frozen. However the box does respond and you can get to the EPG and select a channel after which all seems to be OK.

You have probably left a recorded program playing the previous night. The T-Box often (about half the time for me) freezes on the last frame when it reached the end of a recording.

Yes it is. Happens like once a week. Never got this sort of picture before I got the tbox.

I think it is the T-Box too. Never had that problem before the TBox and do not get it watching the same TV but through Freeview.

Fair enough. I don't think I've ever seen that particular effect, and I'll be happier if that one doesn't add itself to my T-Box niggles

You've probably tempted fate now Lance just like I tempted it last weeking thinking how our T-Box hadn't had it freeze for awhile and sure enough the next day it freezes during a recording. Bad timing lol!

Well, mine has been behaving better well since I reducing the number of repeating recordings, and kept overlaps to a minimum. During the first few months there were many times when I wanted to squash it with a sledge hammer. Over time I've lowered my expectations. I'm really happy when it goes a whole week without any issues bar the sluggishness.

Sounds like the worst sales pitch ever - "It's great as long as you lower your expectations" - lol! I know what you mean though.

This is the "stuck frame decode" problem that TCL have mentioned before. They know about it.

To fix the picture, FF or RW a bit.

Okay, but what if I'm not actually playing or recording anything and it just happens that I am just watching tv and see this?
