Can't say I'm impressed. Really was expecting some better deals than what currently exist here, ESPECIALLY if you take into consideration that 2degrees is right around the corner AND VFAU's awesomely better plans. I know, I know: no competition here. But can't VFNZ at least pretend not to be such a bad carrier?

The 3GS pricing definitely rules out Vodafone as my next carrier (I'll be choosing one for me and my girlfriend in September).

Dito on the existing cust replacing handset, I guess magnum mac it is but i am doubtful as to whether i will be able to get one there or not due to EVERYBODY going there to buy outright.

The stores may be an option for this in future but for now, at launch, we're avoiding the pirates.

Sorry, but we have to limit this kind of activity. The other alternative is not to offer it handset only at all, and that's just not going to work...

I guess it does make sense and good on VF for stopping it.

However I'll be getting one from Magnum. Surely VF saw the consequences of this :P...

I think they should give the iPhone, or any other phone, away for free if signing up on a contract, to those who have been with Vodafone for over 10 years :D
If you are a long time AA member you get better membership prices and bigger discounts on insurance etc. depending on how long you have been a member.
I have been a loyal Vodafone customer, along with my wife, since back in the Bellsouth days.
I want/need an iPhone for work but after seeing the latest pricing I am going to wait and see what happens with Telecom.

Laughable really. It just reinforces how pathetic our telco situation is here in NZ. Never fear folks, things are getting better with the introduction of more providers like 2 degrees, Telstraclear back in the market etc etc.
Personally i have my iPhone on a normal plan with the $10 for 100mb of data per month. I find its difficult to go beyond that really. During the day, im in the office with the net, at night im in wifi zone.

None of these plans appeal to me!!

Paulthagerous: Is it just me, or does it ACTUALLY say a 8gb 3G is the SAME PRICE as a 16gb one, yet the 8 has sold out first???

Same money for less storage - YES PLEASE???

Unless I am missing something...

The 16GB price drop was after the 8GB sold out, so its quite a good deal if you thought "oh i'll just get a cheapie 8GB".. now you get 16

Agreed. However, i have no problems with the network per se.

However, being a different provider surely they can implement what plans they like on Vodafones network, aslong as the dollars and cents work. I would doubt whether vodafone has specified which handsets they can and cant sell.

If they wanted to use the iPhone to attract customers to them for 24 months, but wear say $200.00 of the phones initial outlay themselves, then I dont see why not. They would get customers flocking to them.

Yes, but Telstra aren't reselling Vodafone plans. They will be creating thier own plans/pricing. They are merely using the Vodafone infrastructure.
